We purchased our first two about 5 years ago, two more 4 years ago, another one 2 years ago, and 1 more about 7 months ago. They’ve held up pretty well, but we did finally have to replace one (and another is on its way out soon) but that is more so due to some extra beating taken from some of our cats rather than the feeder. We keep the feeders in a large plastic tote with holes cut out in the bottom to protect them from the cats constantly trying to knock them over. Since we have 6 cats, these feeders work well to allow for all cats to have ample opportunities to eat. We utilize all 4 meal times which is a nice feature.
We like that they’re quieter than the metal feeders and that they allow for both battery and plug in operation (we do both in case one goes out before we notice it).
A few things that are minorly annoying- they don’t all stay at the same time, so it does need to be corrected every once in a while. A minor issue for our lifestyle. They are also sturdy enough with the tote protecting them, but easy for a cat to knock around without it, and although the lid does screw on pretty well, it’s not fool proof. Lastly, since I have 6 feeders, I do note they do not all run out at exactly the same time. It’s usually close, but not exact. All feeders are set at the same number of servings at the same times but expect it to vary a bit. I assume some of that is due to a few of my cats spending their time knocking at the feeders for an extra couple bites of food throughout the day.
Overall I do (and have) recommend a these feeders. I appreciate the price and features and have found them reliable enough to take trips without worrying my kitties won’t be fed.
