This automatic feeder holds more food than most of the automatic feeders I found (on-line) and I purchased it because the old auger type feeder I used failed after 8 years of use (6 years use for my old dog). It took my current Dalmatian dog a few days to get used to the new machine (I think the voice recording I made scares him hearing my voice with me standing across the room), but he finally caught on (after he used the old machine for over 2 years). It has also been a trial-and-error process to figure out how much food each of the food increments delivers. Owner's book that comes with the unit does not give an amount of food for each increment (so I try to feed my dog around 2 cups of food in the morning and a cup and half in the evening). So far, after a week's time the machine is working, and I hope me and my dog get a long life out of the feeder. It does not seem to be as robust in design as the old pet feeder that had an external timer unit. I have only had one feeder clog error message with this new machine and had to twist the blade shaft to clear the blades. Actually, having the unit display an error message when a clog is detected is a nice feature because the machine let me know that it did not complete a feeding session so I could manually feed my dog. I know, I don't like to be hungry! I also like this machine because it doesn't have a camera, Internet and Wi-Fi access. After having 3 dogs using a feeder machine, I find those high-tech amenities unnecessary. My main reason for having a feeding machine is to feed the same amount of food at the same time of the day because dogs like routine and it keeps my dog fit and healthy. Usually, the feed schedule of the machine is when I am having a meal so we are both eating at the same time.

This is my second purchase I bought my first one with 2 bowls for both my dogs. Turns out one isn't big on sharing and blocks the other from eating. Bought these because I have always free fedy dogs but they have become over weight through the years and are not very active. It has trained them to eat now on a schedule, also allows me to be gone for a couple days and still be sure they are eating. I was able to slowly limit their food down to the amount to times per day I wanted. Finding out how much to feed them was more difficult as you cat tell by the options how much that is so I had to play with it a bit and measure until I had the amount I wanted.

I bought this automatic cat feeder and it’s been a game changer. It’s easy to set up, dispenses the right amount of food on schedule, and my cat quickly got used to it. The build feels solid and it saves me from worrying about feeding when I’m not home. Definitely worth it for pet owners.

Easy to set up and super convenient. My cats are eating on time every day, and the portions are just right. Love the large capacity too,don’t need to refill it all the time.

If you have a cat or a small dog, this is the perfect feeder. The container is large enough to provide food for several days, motor is quiet, connects to WiFi and app on the phone fairly easy, and the camera images are cute ( even though you probably won't talk or watch your pet as often as you think you would).
BUT, if you have anything larger than cat or a very small dog, the plate is minuscule.. they should have different size plates, as the food gets bigger and you'll have to adjust the feeding to more than 25 portions to make up for a meal, and the food will pile up to the feeder opening rather than fall in the plate. Awkward position for the dog to eat. Returning it based on that, otherwise an overall good product.
